The Charles J. Andrew Youth Treatment Centre in Sheshatshiu, Newfoundland, offers a land-based (Nutshimit) program for youth that provides opportunities to channel energy towards healthy choices, and helps to calm anxious youth, especially those with ADHD.

With a $32,000 grant from the IGA, the centre is able to continue to provide a safe and nurturing environment for healing, and the opportunity to build relationships, develop self-esteem, and a strong aboriginal identity while learning about responsibility, values, and beliefs from Elders in the community.

Youth from around the region will continue to benefit for years to come from the resilience and sense of belonging and purpose gained through the skills learned in the six-day program, which is offered every two weeks at the centre.
