The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation is a registered charitable organization, whose mission is to raise funds to enhance treatment and supportive care programs for cancer patients, fund local cancer research initiatives, and provide continuing education for staff at the centre and affiliated cancer programs in Newfoundland and Labrador.

A $75,000 grant from the IGA further supports projects that aim to increase the scope and scale of research and evaluation activities that can improve care for patients in Newfoundland and Labrador. This would include, but not limited to, cancer care patients.

With this grant, as part of the Enhancing Health Care in Newfoundland and Labrador research fund, valued at $1 million, the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation – in partnership with Eastern Health and the provincial government – is able to continue to invite applicants to apply for funding in the area of cancer research.
