The Charlottetown Fire Brigade have used an IGA grant in re-establishing the volunteer fire department and replacing old equipment that was beyond repair.

Hoses that had holes and were leaking water along with a broken ice auger needed for winter access to water were among the equipment that was replaced. The Brigade replaced 2000 feet of cold weather fire fighting hoses and purchased a new ice auger, along with some smaller essential items.

The Charlottetown Fire Brigade is now functional and operational; Fire Chief Boyce Turnbull calls the grant a major contribution to the fire department and said they are “very thankful for an investment in their community”.
