The International Grenfell Association (IGA) is proud to have supported Memorial University’s School of Pharmacy in launching the Rural Pharmacy Placements Program, a grant designed to strengthen health care delivery in rural and remote communities across the IGA region.

Through IGA funding, the program provides travel bursaries for Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students completing clinical placements in under-resourced community and hospital pharmacies. These students gain valuable hands-on experience while helping address workforce shortages and enhance patient care in the region.

With eight placements supported across Newfoundland and Labrador, including communities such as St. Anthony, Happy Valley Goose Bay, Flowers Cove, and Forteau, the program builds health system capacity while inspiring new graduates to consider careers in rural practice.
