The IGA recently awarded a grant to the Englee Volunteer Fire Department which was used to purchase new equipment.

For more than 30 years, the fire department has provided fire protection services to residents of Englee as well as providing mutual aid for Roddickton-Bide Arm. It is essential for the fire department to have reliable equipment and with many years of use, it was time to replace some of the equipment that was in excess of 20 years old.

With an IGA grant, the fire department was able to purchase a breathing apparatus with an air cylinder plus two extra cylinders and six pagers with chargers. This equipment ensures the safety of fire fighters when entering unsafe buildings.

This IGA is very proud to have funded this project, and extends its gratitude to the members of the Englee fire department for protecting the town’s 500 residents!
