The recent Unplug and Rejuvenate program, led by the Southern Labrador/Strait of Belle Isle Community Youth Network, is a unique program to help youth in our region build self-esteem, confidence, and resilience. In today’s world, many young people face challenges that impact their mental and emotional health. This program creates a supportive, technology-free environment where youth can reconnect with themselves and their peers while gaining many skills for personal growth.

The International Grenfell Association is proud to have supported this vital initiative, recognizing the importance of programs that help personal growth in the youth. by providing funding, the IGA has helped create an opportunity for participants to step away from the everyday life and engage in meaningful activities

Over the trip the youth participants were invited to unplug from technology and the pressures of social media, allowing them to focus on activities that encouraged self-reflection, connection, and relaxation. During the week, the youth took part in discussions around key topics such as thoughts and beliefs that affect one’s self-esteem, recognizing situations that affect self-esteem, challenging negative thinking, and adjusting their thoughts and beliefs. In addition to these important discussions, the group participated in team-building, outdoor activities, and more.

The International Grenfell Association was proud to help fund this program, contributing to the ongoing effort to create meaningful experiences for youth in our region.
