Recently, the IGA awarded a three year grant worth $25,500 to the Canadian Cancer Society for Daffodil Place. Through this funding, the Canadian Cancer Society has been able to help a total of 13 patients and 13 caregivers so far from the IGA region. These patients and their caregivers spent a total of 250 nights at Daffodil Place, which has helped reduce the heavy financial burden faced by families during an incredibly tough time.

The IGA is proud to work with organizations that help community members in our service region (Northern Newfoundland and Coastal Labrador). Consequently, supporting the Canadian Cancer Society has been important to the IGA in aiming to alleviate financial stress for individuals and their families are dealing with a cancer diagnosis.
