The IGA awarded a three-year grant worth $25,500 to the Canadian Cancer Society for Daffodil Place. Through this funding, the Canadian Cancer Society was able to help a total of 13 patients and 13 caregivers from the IGA region. These patients and their caregivers spent a total of 250 nights at Daffodil Place, which aided in reducing the heavy financial burden during an incredibly tough time.
The IGA is proud to work with organizations which aid community members in our service region (Northern Newfoundland and Coastal Labrador). Consequently, supporting the Canadian Cancer Society important to the IGA as they aim to alleviate financial stress for individuals and their families who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis.
