The Town of St. Anthony continues to prioritize safe recreation activities for residents and visitors of all ages. Through its recreation department, the town provides accessible spaces and programs that support physical activity, social connection, and well being within the community.

With funding support from the International Grenfell Association (IGA), the town completed a project to upgrade playground equipment at the Bottom Brook playground. The grant focused on replacing aging teeter totters and introducing new equipment to ensure children across the community have access to safe playground equipment.

The previous teeter totters at Bottom Brook had been in place for approximately 40 years and had become a safety concern. Despite their age, they remained a popular feature among families, showing the importance of maintaining the equipment rather than removing it entirely.

Through this grant, the playgrounds updated equipment provides a safer and more enjoyable experience for children. The space is widely used by local families and visitors, with hundreds of individuals accessing the playgrounds each year.

By supporting this project, the IGA has helped strengthen community recreation infrastructure in St. Anthony. Improvements to the playground will contribute to a safe outdoor space where children and families can stay active and enjoy the benefits of time spent outdoors.
