The Grenfell Historical Society (GHS) is a non-profit organization that works to preserve, protect, and promote the legacy of Sir Wilfred Thomason Grenfell. They opened the Grenfell Interpretation Centre in 1998 which allows visitors to learn the history of Dr. Grenfell and the historic properties.
GHS also runs the Grenfell House Museum in St. Anthony which is a registered heritage structure.
This summer, the IGA awarded a grant to the Grenfell Historical Society entitled “Grenfell House Restoration,” enabling GHS to carry out significant restoration work which is now underway. GHS has been able to begin landscaping, complete roof work, patio upgrading and painting!
The IGA is proud to partner with the Grenfell Historical Society and looks forward to seeing the completed restoration of Grenfell House!
